Influenced by "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," Agnes Prygiel's artwork centers on a strong female character. Conquering a mythical mountain filled with treasures, she emerges triumphantly from numerous battles.
CONTEXT
Rather than assuming the traditional roles of a visually pleasing sidekick or an entertaining companion to the male lead, the artwork places the female protagonist in a central and empowering position.
In this artwork, the artist expresses a desire for all women to play a leading role in their lives, taking ownership of their decisions, relationships and careers.
TECHNIQUE
Crafted from a Funko Pop vinyl figurine, the artwork is meticulously hand-painted and adorned with individually encrusted artificial gems. Covered in glitter flakes, it stands proudly on three wooden plinths sculpted into a mountain shape, solidified with multiple layers of resin.
