Agnes Prygiel
A Londoner turned Scottish artist, photographer, journalist, and musician. Member of Scottish Contemporary Art Network since 2024.
CONTEXT
Prygiel draws inspiration primarily from the realm of childhood. Commencing her artistic journey in the 1990s, she furthered her skills through Master’s Degree studies, expanding her practice into Traditional Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, and Film. Accumulating multiple awards and publications in the comics and animation field, Agnes established herself as a prominent Polish artist. Relocating to London in 2011, she found inspiration in the city’s cultural diversity.
POP-ART LEGACY
Prygiel considers her work a continuation of Pop-Art and often cites Andy Warhol as her mental and artistic godfather. She also expresses admiration for Michael Lau, Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst, and Jeff Koons, appreciating them for including childhood motifs and creating visually appealing art.
CRYPTO ART
In 2024, Agnes Prygiel expanded her artistic endeavors into the realm of Crypto Art. She offers her creations as limited editions, each comprising a physical piece and its corresponding NFT, available for seperate acquisitions.
PRIVATE LIFE
Apart from her involvement in the art world, Agnes is also a dedicated motorcyclist and has built a career managing motorcycle showrooms. In addition, she has worked as a manager and Visual Merchandiser in well-known fashion stores across London, overseeing significant shopping destinations, particularly in Chelsea and Westminster.
SCOTLAND
The artist discovered Scotland during a motorcycle touring trip in 2022. Captivated by the beauty of this region, she made the decision to relocate to this part of the world in 2024. Her aim was to find inspiration for her art and cultivate a mindful life marked by simplicity and a deep respect for nature.
